Megan Frary (BS 1999, MS 2001 - Dunand) is the recipient of the 2008 ASM Bradley Stoughton Award for Young Teachers

Marcus Young (PhD 2006 - Dunand) received a Humboldt Research Fellowship www.humboldt-foundation.de/en/  for a 2-year position in the group of Prof Eggeler in Germany.

Joseph B. Maher (BS 1995) was recently selected to be the Deputy General Counsel at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. (May 07)

John Romankiewicz (BS 2006) has been awarded a Fulbright Scholarship for study in China for academic year 2007-2008. (May 07)

Andrea Hodge (PhD 2002 - Dunand) has accepted a faculty position in the Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering Department of USC. (Feb. 07)

Richard P. Schneider, Jr. (PhD 1989 - Wessels) has been elected a fellow of The Optical Society of America. (Jan. 07)

Steven May (PhD 2007 - Wessels) was elected to receive a Best Student Paper Award for the poster presentation entitled "InMnAs/InAs heterojunctions for high-field magnetic sensors" at the 64th IEEE Device Research Conference that was held at Penn State
University, PA June 2006.

Department alum, Prof. Chris Schuh (PhD 2001 - Dunand), is the 2004 recipient of the TMS Robert Lansing Hardy Award. TMS
